Schedule: 3 12 hour shifts

Minimum Job Requirements:

 

  • Technical or Occupational - Certificate Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program in Surgical Technology  (Required) 
  • Other Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree (Preferred)
  • 2 - 3 years in a related field, including central sterile supply (Required)
  • Certification in Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology Required

    Job Overview:

 

This position is responsible for organizing and coordinating the daily operational activities of the surgical specialty which includes scheduling of procedures, procurement of supplies and equipment, training of staff, communication of requirements to appropriate parties, and monitoring of patient care activities in the operating room. This position also works in concert with all members of the OR team including surgeons, anesthesia providers, staff and management to provide a seamless efficient daily work flow for the patient. As well as demonstrate effective utilization of resources and facilities as well functions as a role model to promote team cohesiveness in the O.R. This position will demonstrate above average competencies in the scrub for their specialty.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Coaches and supports the development of staff working in concert with other Specialty Coordinators, Perioperative Educator and Perioperative Management. 
  • Assists with coordination of both capital and routine service line expenditures and new activities or special projects require only general instruction. 
  • Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and the surgery team; coordinates plan of care with anesthesia and surgeon and surgery team. 
  • Accesses future schedules and coordinates with physicians and sales reps. for supplies, instrumentation and equipment needs. 
  • Identifies/seeks experience that meets your learning needs and/or needs of the unit. Maintains knowledge by self study, workshops, in-service and specialty certification  
  • Supports and implements the patient care delivery system for specialty areas.
