Part Time Day Shift - TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital

 

Location: 

375 Dixmyth Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45220

 

Work Schedule: 

  • Part Time Days - (40 hours bi-weekly)
  • 8:00am - 4:30pm; Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; schedule can be flexible if needed
  • NO weekends, holidays or call 
  • Opportunity to support the Alcohol and Drug treatment program at Bethesda North Hospital as well

 

The Day Treatment Program is TriHealth's mental health partial hospitalization program.  The nursing team assists the program psychiatrists with nursing assessments, safety planning, patient education, and medical discharge planning needs.  They also help develop and assist the patient achieving their treatment goals.  The nursing team is part of a robust clinical team lead by the psychiatrists and includes psychologists, clinical social workers, and occupational therapists.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree - Nursing (Required) 
  • New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.  (Required)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience in a behavioral health/psych setting (Required)
  • Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle
  • Registered Nurse Required 
  • ACLS PALS may be required but is dependent on unit or department Preferred 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Perform initial and ongoing patient/family assessments and document per guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care based on patient needs and expected outcomes.
  • Provide safe, ethical, patientcentered care while supporting dignity, diversity, and autonomy.
  • Prioritize care based on patient condition and unit needs.
  • Safely administer medications and treatments; perform technical skills per policy.
  • Recognize and respond to emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions.
  • Evaluate patient responses to care and revise plans in collaboration with the care team.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Supervise delegated tasks and ensure quality care delivery.
  • Participate in organizational activities such as committees, staff meetings, and unit initiatives.
  • Support student learning and staff development; serve in leadership roles as needed.
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing education and selfassessment.
  • Build collaborative, collegial relationships across the healthcare team.
  • Identify and act on opportunities for process improvement.
