Job Overview: This position is responsible for the supervision of Phlebotomy Trainers, Outpatient Lab Coordinator, Lab Process Techs, Lead Phlebotomists, Phlebotomists and has oversight of Lab Assistants – POC in Support Services or physician offices, draw sites, and/or working at health fairs. The supervisor is responsible for scheduling, duty assignments, productivity, maintenance and repair of equipment, ordering supplies, and implementation of new equipment and procedures. This position is responsible for hiring, terminating, provides performance counseling and appraisals for the Support Services team. This position is responsible for providing optimal customer service in specimen procurement, specimen processing and referral services as well as accommodating outpatient, physician office clients, nursing personnel and visitors for any laboratory service. The person in this position uses a team approach to work with their one-up, Lab managers, supervisors, site managers or administration, as well as other departments to develop processes and procedures to establish efficient workflow and use of resources to resolve issues, to promote a high level of employee morale and to ensure a high level of satisfaction with TriHealth’s lab services. This position reviews the work of the phlebotomists to ensure accuracy, quality and to ensure employee adherence to all rules, regulations, standards and policies including CAP, OSHA, JCAHO, HIPAA and other regulatory agencies as well as TriHealth’s Corporate Compliance Plan.
