Phlebotomist

As a Phlebotomist at TriHealth, you play a vital role in patient care by efficiently collecting and processing blood specimens for diagnostic testing using state-of-the-art equipment. You ensure specimen integrity, maintain accurate documentation, follow safety protocols, and serve patients with compassion, providing a reassuring and professional experience for individuals of all ages while supporting laboratory operations.

Location:  Good Samaritan Hospital at 375 Dixmyth Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45220

Work hours:

  • Full-time, 64 hours bi-weekly

  • Weekend and holiday rotation

Job Overview: This position serves as a liaison for a wide range of laboratory customers, ensuring high-quality service and specimen collection. Responsibilities include procuring quality specimens from adult, geriatric, pediatric, and infant patients for diagnostic testing in accordance with CLIA, TJC, and CAP guidelines. Additionally, the role may involve performing EKGs for outpatients.

The position requires handling customer inquiries, gathering necessary data for service and billing, answering questions, and resolving issues. Documentation must comply with OIG guidelines, including accurate interpretation and transcription of physician orders and LIS/HIS order entry.

This position may also involve receiving incoming specimens, entering patient demographics and test orders in LIS/HIS systems, labeling specimens, and distributing them to appropriate lab departments for testing.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Phlebotomy certification (preferred)
  • No equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 1-2 years of experience in Phlebotomy
