| Job Overview: Responsible for the filling and dispensing of medication orders including the proper handling, usage, and storage of drugs in the pharmacy. Maintains standards set by the department and translates policies and procedures into the daily operation of the pharmacy. Responsible for acting as an information resource to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug related information and literature. Plans and organizes work schedule of supportive personnel and pharmacists, as required. Job Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in pharmacy - Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) - Pharmacist - State license or eligible for licensure in state - 1-2 years' experience in a related field Job Responsibilities: Assumes personal responsibility for professional development, particularly in the area of ongoing clinical education. Demonstrates a working knowledge of computer operations, all third-party plans, ensuring pharmacy support staff is knowledgeable in the same areas, trouble shooting, and call resolution Demonstrates initiative in accepting additional projects. Seeks areas of improvement. Drug distribution skills including order entry, clarification if needed, accuracy of checking, technician supervision and timely delivery. Effectively manage day to day operations, handle initial conflict management, provide operational feedback and opportunities, implement corporate and departmental directives, and manage expenses within budget. Oversees and assists in the development of a service-oriented staff through managing effective workflow and actively participating in the training of new employees.
