10500 Montgomery Rd, Montgomery, OH 45242

 

Work Schedule: 

  • Full Time Days, M-F 
  • Hours of 7:00am - 3:30pm but will need to remain flexible to fit needs of the department
  • No weekends/holidays but will have 24 hour call responsibilities

 

Job Overview

An energetic and results-driven leader responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Cardiovascular Surgical Services. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and staff engagement. The ideal candidate brings 3-5 years of CVOR clinical and/or leadership experience, along with demonstrated expertise in team leadership, strategic planning, operational management, communication, and staff development.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
  • Certification within specialty area within two years of assuming position 
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
  • Registered Nurse licensure required
  • Membership in related professional organization preferred
  • 2-3 years' experience in progressive leadership in nursing strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience within a CVOR setting

 

Job Responsibilities: 

 

  • Lead daily operations of Cardiovascular Surgical Services, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive quality, safety, service, and performance improvement initiatives using key outcome metrics.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain a high-performing clinical team.
  • Support staff development through coaching, performance management, education, and career growth opportunities.
  • Foster employee engagement, teamwork, shared leadership, and a positive work environment.
  • Build strong relationships with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and organizational leaders.
  • Manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with TJC, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Lead implementation of new services, technologies, and strategic initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Leadership Tactics: 

Conduct department huddles. Generally, clinical departments hold daily huddles, non-clinical hold weekly huddles. 

Regularly Round on Team Members, using questions from the rounding log. 

  • 25 or fewer team members = monthly 
  • 26-50 team members = every other month 
  • 51+ (and optional team members) = quarterly 

 

Lead monthly team meetings using meeting agenda template; review stoplight report; cascade key leadership messages. 

 

Model, coach and validate team members’ use of TriHealth Way behaviors (AIDET + Promise, Always Behaviors and Always HEARD).
