Lead Phlebotomist

Join our laboratory team in a leadership-focused Phlebotomist role where you’ll play a key part in training, coordinating, and supporting a team of phlebotomists and processors. In this position, you will ensure accurate specimen collection and proper preparation for transport while serving as a trusted resource for clinical staff, physicians, patients, and caregivers.

This role is ideal for an experienced phlebotomist who is organized, confident working independently, and passionate about mentoring others while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and laboratory excellence.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-Time (80 hours bi-weekly)
  • Night shift with weekend and holiday rotation

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Degree with formal phlebotomy training (Required)
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in phlebotomy (Required)
  • Working knowledge of phlebotomy and other specimen collection techniques, specimen handling, and lab terminology 
  • Strong communication, leadership, customer service, and data entry skills 
  • Proficiency in difficult and pediatric venipunctures 
  • Must be an organized individual capable of leading, prioritizing, and working independently 
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, patients, and various caregivers
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician Certified Phlebotomist Preferred 
  • Driver's License DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Required

Job Overview:

This position provides ongoing training and coordination for a team of phlebotomists and processors. This position ensures that specimens are collected accurately and prepared for transport properly. This position interacts with not only phlebotomists but also with other laboratory personnel, physicians, other departments, patients, family members, and other caregivers. This position performs phlebotomy and other specimen collection procedures. This position does not require direct supervision to process specimens.
