We’re hiring a dependable, detail-oriented Laboratory Driver to support the crucial transport of medical specimens, supplies, and laboratory materials between healthcare facilities. Job Overview:
This position provides for the transportation of laboratory specimens from physician and other provider offices to the TriHealth Lab. This position delivers reports, collection supplies, and other lab-related items to providers' offices. This position safely operates and cares for TriHealth's Lab vehicles and interacts with the Lab's customers in a manner consistent with TriHealth's Service Standards Agreements. This position also stocks collection supplies in the Lab's storeroom.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license with no more than 4 points on your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) — will be verified prior to start
- Ability to follow written instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills and a customer service–oriented approach
- Effective time management and organizational abilities
- Up to 1 year of relevant experience preferred
- Familiarity with handling medical specimens is a plus (training available)
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure prompt and secure delivery of medical specimens, supplies, and lab reports
- Follow strict handling and transport protocols to maintain specimen integrity
- Operate lab vehicles safely, courteously, and in alignment with service standards
- Coordinate effectively with lab staff and healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate transfer documentation and inventory supply levels
- Adhere to infection control, biohazard, and safety regulations
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
This role requires a consistent level of physical activity and attention to detail throughout the workday, including:
- Frequent climbing and stooping
- Consistent use of hands, reaching, pulling, and pushing
- Regular lifting of 11–50 lbs, with occasional lifting up to 50+ lbs and kneeling
- Prolonged periods of walking, sitting, and standing
- Strong visual acuity (near and far), color vision, and hearing capability (conversation and other sounds)
- Continuous concentration, reasoning, and learning
- Active interpersonal communication and verbal interaction
- Candidates should be comfortable navigating a physically active, service-focused environment that supports fast-paced laboratory operations.
