Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Acute Care Technician (ACT) II to support high‑quality patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role blends direct patient care, clerical support, safety responsibilities, and teamwork to ensure smooth unit operations and an excellent patient experience.
The ACT II assists with and/or performs basic activities of daily living, supports specified treatments and procedures, and may carry out non‑direct care tasks as requested. This position also performs clerical duties, communicates through various telecommunication systems, and helps coordinate patient flow. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with respect and compassion are essential.
Job Requirements:
- 2 years High School Education
- Age 17 with work permit
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Reading and math ability appropriate to the position
- Experience as an STNA, PCA or ACT required
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide basic patient care and complete assigned tasks safely and on time under RN supervision.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team; assist with phone calls, call lights, and unit flow.
- Maintain accurate documentation and support medical record processes, including downtime procedures.
- Promote a safe environment by following Infection Control policies and reporting hazards or events promptly.
- Assist with equipment, supplies, and environmental needs; ensure items are clean, functional, and ready for use.
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and openness to ongoing learning and improvement.
