Job Overview: A Hospital Pharmacy Technician - Qualified is a healthcare professional who plays an integral role in pharmacy operations. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the pharmacy technician assists in the distribution of medications to patients across inpatient, outpatient, emergency room, and operating room units. Responsibilities include selecting, counting, compounding, packing, labeling, and delivering medications. Proficiency in accessing and viewing electronic health records and utilizing pharmacy automated systems is required. Pharmacy technicians will work in multiple areas of the pharmacy to maintain competency and broaden their skill set. Applicants must complete an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program or begin a Pharmacy Technician Trainee program within 6 months of hire and complete the program within 18 months of initial registration.
