Lead Sterile Supply Technician

Job Overview:

Delegated the responsibilities to ensure in the processes to decontaminate, assemble, prepare, sterilize surgical items and equipment is accomplished effectively and efficiently. Responsible for storing and issuing medical/surgical supplies in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Assists the supervisor in the management of day-to-day activities.

Hours: 

Full time, night shift

Job Requirements:

High School Degree
Specialty Sterile Supply certification required
Able to read, write, speak English and perform simple math operations 
Ability to provide leadership and to oversee the work of technicians 
Operate hazardous equipment 
Knowledge of microbiology and infection control Computerized record keeping
1-2 years experience in a related field

Job Responsibilities:

Uses proper sterilization method for items being processed, complete sterilization records according to policy and process proper biologicals -according to policy- support sterilization method used.
Performs proper storage of supplies. Checks items for outdates. Ensures proper rotation of stock. Put instrument trays, sets, and peel packs in their proper location. Maintain proper storage according to standards.
Ensures proper and complete ordering and storage of supplies. Checks items for outdates, and Inventories supplies for reordering. Properly rotates of stock. Puts instrument trays, sets, and peel packs in their proper location. Maintains proper storage according to standards.
Inspects, assembles, wraps and properly labels instrument sets, trays, scopes, cords and power sets for proper functioning for processing according to policy
Fills case carts to an acceptable and accurate level according to set standards and information provided. Fill stat case carts within 15 minutes of request
Retrieves preference cards from ORSOS both accurately and timely.
Retrieves schedules from ORSOS both accurately and timely.
