Registered Medical Technologist - PRN

Job Overview: This role is responsible for conducting a full range of laboratory tests, ensuring the accuracy of test results, and providing findings to physicians, pathologists, or other healthcare providers. The position may involve work in various laboratory areas, including Transfusion Services, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology, Toxicology, Special Chemistry, and Fibrinolysis. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, utilizing laboratory systems, strictly adhering to established policies and procedures, and working under the guidance of a general supervisor while maintaining independence. Direct supervision is not required for specimen processing, test performance, or result reporting.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field, OR clinical experience and MLT education equivalent to MT certification. Equivalent experience is accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Certification: American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) MT certification.
  • Training: Clinical training in medical technology.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a related field.
