Anatomic Pathology Assistant

Good Samaritan Hospital, a part of TriHealth, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional for the role of Laboratory Technician specializing in frozen microtomy and cytology procedures. This position serves all surgical facilities within the TriHealth network (GSH, BN, Evendale, Anderson, Butler, and any future facilities). Primary responsibilities include performing frozen microtomy on surgical specimens, assisting with cytology procedures—such as staining slides and preparing specimens for send-out—and supporting Surgical Pathology operations.

Additional responsibilities involve assisting pathologists, pathologist assistants, and histotechnologists, acting as a liaison with TriHealth customers, gathering essential billing and service data, and ensuring compliance with OIG regulations, including accurate physician order transcription and LIS/HIS order entry.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, 80 hours bi-weekly
  • Day shift
  • No weekends or holidays

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year post-high school education in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, or Chemistry; or 2 years of relevant experience in pathology (including frozen microtomy and fine needle aspirate preparation).
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 1-2 years of clinical pathology experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical Demands: Rare climbing and kneeling; occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.), pulling, pushing, and reaching; frequent sitting, standing, and walking.

  • Visual Requirements: Regular use of color vision and near/far visual acuity.
