FINANCIAL CLEARANCE REPRESENTATIVE I: This position is responsible for verifying patient insurance, confirming benefits eligibility, performing notification of admissions and/or authorization and pre-certification as required by payers and third party coverage providers. Purpose of this job is to verify that TriHealth patient insurance information is accurate and up to date so payment will be received for services rendered. Additionally, this position requires the knowledge to review medical records to obtain information such as diagnosis, prior treatment, signs and symptom, and other medical information to submit requests for authorizations for hospital admissions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: High School Degree 

EXPERIENCE: Up to 1 year Customer Service Healthcare Dedication to treating both internal & external constituents as clients & customers, maintaining a flexible customer service approach & orientation that emphasizes service satisfaction & quality. Exp preferred in patient billing/insurance background 1-2 years Technical Healthcare Must have one year experience in insurance verification, notification of admissions or precertification experience. Experience with automated patient account system or online verification systems.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of medical terminology & insurance vocabulary & processes, government & non-government third party benefits & coverage rules. Understanding of the impact financial clearance services has on revenue cycle operations & financial performance..
