TriHealth is actively recruiting for a Certified Medical Assistant for our Call Center in Norwood.


In this role, you are responsible for taking incoming triage calls for Internal Medicine/Family Practice (IM/FP) and Endocrinology departments. These calls are from internal and external customers, using the best practice smart sets.


As a Call Center, Certified Medical Assistant, you will appropriately document and route call information to the IM/FP offices and clinical staff. You will assist with entering lab orders per protocol and communicating lab results per the direction of the physicians. You are also responsible for verifying Patient Heath Information to ensure compliance with HIPPA regulations.


Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Relay test results and/or documented information by the MD or clinical staff as well as return patient calls as necessary
  • Schedule appointments/consults with the patient's Primary Care Physician (PCP) or specialist
  • Review the Epic chart to assist with patient questions, concerns and requests
  • Schedule Internal Medicine and specialty appointments
  • Document confidential information in the patient’s chart accurately and timely
  • Contact the clinical resource staff in each center as necessary to assist with patient calls, requests, medical needs


To be considered for this role, you must meet these minimum requirements:

  • Education:
    • Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program in Healthcare; desired education: Associate's Degree
    • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA through AMT, NCCT, or NHA, or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by AAMA; Current, active RN or LPN licensure also acceptable
    • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    • Is equivalent experience acceptable In lieu of minimum education: No
  • Experience:
    • 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
    • 1-2 years of call center experience in a medical/physician, nursing home, or urgent care setting
  • Specialized Knowledge:
    • Computer proficiency, typing 25-35 wpm, able to handle high volume call center environment
    • Comfortable using medical terminology to communicate with nurse/physician on patient's behalf
    • Must be able to handle high call volumes as required in a call center environment and problem solve
