TriHealth is actively recruiting for a Certified Medical Assistant with high-volume Call Center experience for our call center in Norwood, Ohio.

 

As a Certified Medical Assistant (MA), you will be responsible for taking incoming triage calls for Internal Medicine, Family Practice, and Endocrinology departments. These triage calls are from internal and external customers. You will document and route call information to the appropriate office and clinical staff. The Certified MA assists with entering lab orders and communicating lab results per the direction of the physicians you support. In this role, you will relay test results and documented information provided by the Medical Doctor or clinical staff when patients call into the message center.

 

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Schedule appointments/consults with the patient's Primary Care Physician and/or specialist as necessary
  • Review the patient’s Epic chart to assist with patient questions, concerns, and requests
  • Verify Patient Heath Information to ensure compliance with HIPPA regulations
  • Schedule Internal Medicine and specialty appointments
  • Document confidential information in the patient’s chart
  • Contact the clinical resource staff in each center as necessary to assist with patient calls, requests, medical needs
  • Handle high call volumes as required in a call center environment and problem solve

 

To be qualified for this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

  • EDUCATION
    • Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program
    • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through AMT, NCCT, or NHA, or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by AAMA, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    • Current, active RN or LPN licensure also acceptable
  • EXPERIENCE
    • 1-2 years Call Center experience in a medical/physician, nursing home or urgent care setting
  • SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
    • Computer proficiency
    • Typing 25-35 words per minute
    • Able to handle high volume call center environment Comfortable using medical terminology to communicate with nurse/physician on patient's behalf
