This position is a registered respiratory therapist with demonstrated clinical and instructional expertise who has responsibility for respiratory team member development. Under the direction of and in collaboration with the pulmonary manager, has 24-hour accountability for their area(s) of responsibility. This accountability encompasses: patient care outcomes, service excellence, human resource issues, fiscal management, quality improvement compliance, and communication. Emphasis should be placed on creating a positive environment that fosters professional growth and retention. This environment is supported by the Assistant Respiratory Manager (ARM) acting as a role model and as a mentor and coach to the staff. This individual assesses, develops, delivers, coordinates and evaluates learning activities for team members to meet orientation, regulatory training, and continuing education needs. Interpersonal communication skills and development of collegial relationships with peers is key to this role. This position has responsibilities at the Tri-State level supporting the local colleges/universities and serving on their advisory committees. Creativeness, effective problem solving and initiative in managing change are key skills that this individual must possess.


EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program Respiratory Care Practitioner; Must be graduate of an accredited 2-year respiratory care program; bachelor degree desired; Current RCP Ohio license.

EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years Professional Allied Health; 2-3 years Progressive Leadership Allied Health;  Must have 5 years clinical expertise for education compliance, exceptional interpersonal skills, problem solving skills.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrated expertise in area of clinical specialization; exceptional interpersonal relations and skills. Computer literate, including use of Microsoft Office.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC: Must have 5 years clinical expertise for education compliance, exceptional interpersonal skills, problem solving skills.
