MANAGER CENTRAL SERVICE: This position has 24-hour accountability for their area of responsibility. Tasks for this position include: run hospital wide sterile processing; ensure processing of reusable medical/surgical patient care equipment/instrumentation is up to standard; establish/conduct training for central sterile processing technicians; run the reprocessing of vendor owned instrumentation; direct repair of instrumentation; ensure delivery of accurate instrument set and/or case cart; ensure sterility of products processed and they meet regulatory standards; partake in supply standardization initiatives; monitor instrument utilization and maintain the instrument set list system; assess, plan, employ resolutions, evaluate outcomes, and document departmental activities; act as resource for managers; identify needs, develop and employ programs; run department activities; schedule, make assignments, evaluate training requirements, and educate personnel; identify hazardous materials in work area and employees with potential exposure; ensure employees adhere to compliance measures.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree Incumbents must obtain Bachelor's degree by 7/1/2021. Certification in Central Service/Sterile Supply

EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years Supervisor/Lead Operating Room Experience (RN, Surgical Technician, Surgical Assistant/First Assistant)

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Basic knowledge of sterile reprocessing, OR, or Materials Management in an acute setting.
