MEDICAL ASSISTANT I-DIVERSIFIED SERVICES: This position assists the physician in examination and treatment of patients, performing miscellaneous delegated duties under the direction of physician. This position also interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts, and prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. The position will be cross-trained to perform duties to enhance efficiency and continuity of delivery of patient care; work cooperatively within the team concept demonstrating flexibility, motivation and commitment to quality patient care. This position’s tasks include patient related duties, medical record maintenance/documentation, and safety/environmental duties.  This is a high demanding, high performing office; candidate must be a person who is willing to work both front office and back office in a busy, fast-paced internal medicine practice and is able to work under pressure.  Must possess strong clinical skills, excellent customer service abilities and be a self-starter.  Applicant must be able to adapt to change, can multi-task, and has familiarity with EMR, preferably Epic.    Applicant should possess good communication skills; have empathy and compassion with patients and team members.  Needs to want to be part of a great team that provides excellent patient care and customer service.   Must be able to work cooperatively within the team concept with providers and other team members, demonstrating flexibility, motivation and commitment to quality patient care; have good organizational skills, be able to problem solve, efficient with Word and Excel spreadsheets, and Epic experience. Must also demonstrate clinical expertise through direct and indirect patient care.  As a collaborating member of the health care team this position assists with pre-visit planning and follow-up direction and support to the patient, family, and health care providers.   Prefer certified or registered MA but will consider extensive experience.    Must have a strong commitment to patient experience, teamwork and flexibility to assist in other areas which may include but not limited to phone coverage, scheduling, working reports, contacting patients for appointment and other front and back responsibilities. EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved technical, professional ,or vocational program Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through AMT, NCCT, or NHA, or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by AAMA, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Current, active RN or LPN licensure also acceptable.

EXPERIENCE: Up to 1 year medical/physician office setting.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: EKG, injections, venipuncture, performance of common lab tests according to establish CLIA guidelines and TriHealth policy.
