TOBACCO TREATMENT SPECIALIST:

The Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) will complete the following services:

1. Coordinate tobacco cessation efforts for pregnant women across various systems.

2. Provide one-on-one counseling/education to pregnant women who screen positive for tobacco use.

3. Provide 5 A’s Smoking Cessation training to hospital physicians, health centers and other medical staff.

4. Provide clear and accurate information about the causes and consequences of tobacco use during pregnancy

5. Develop individualized treatment plans using treatment strategies based on patients’ needs

6. Implement evidence-based interventions and strategies for quitting and staying quit during and after pregnancy

7. Use specific, well-accepted methods for tracking individual progress, record keeping, program documentation, outcome measurement, and reporting

8. Serve as educational resources for organizations, healthcare providers, and the general public regarding tobacco use treatment issues

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree Psycology or Social Work Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS).

EXPERIENCE: Up to 1 year
