SPECIALTY DEPARTMENT COORDINATOR: This position is responsible for the coordination of departmental activities of a clinical specialty area where a manager is not present on-site. Coordinates patient care and is accountable for planning and organizing the functions and activities of the specialty unit, which may include coordinating the work of outside agencies and/or contractors providing services in the facility. Functions under the guidance of and reports to the director, renal services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Other CNN or CDN EXPERIENCE: 4-5 years Clinical in Nursing

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Must have 2 years recent hemodialysis experience, acute and chronic.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC: Hemodialysis Specialty Department Coordinator oversees planning and functioning of GSH Acute Dialysis Services. Oversees care provided by contracted dialysis care givers. Knowledge of inpatient dialysis regulatory requirements is essential as is the ability to effectively multi-task and collaborate well with others including contracted staff, physicians, hospital leaders, nursing units, and the Specialty Dept Coordinator at Bethesda North Hospital.
