PHARMACY TECHNICIAN TRAINEE: A hospital Pharmacy Technician - Qualified is a healthcare professional who plays an integral role in the pharmacy operations. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist in the distribution of medications to patients in the hospital (inpatient and outpatient units, emergency room, and operating room). The distribution of medications, includes but is not limited to, selecting, counting, compounding, packing, labeling, and delivering medications to the units. Employees must be proficient in accessing and viewing the electronic health record and utilizing pharmacy automated systems. Employees will work in multiple areas of the pharmacy to maintain competency and broaden skills for all areas of the job scope. Applicants must complete an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program or begin a Pharmacy Technician Trainee program within 6 months of hire and complete the program no greater than 18 months of initial registration date.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: High School Degree or GED New hires must register & be active w OH Board of Pharm as a Pharm Tech Trainee PRIOR TO start date OR have an active Registered Pharm Tech registration. (Employer willing to assist with completion of this task)
