NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNOLOGIST: Under the direction of the radiologist and the supervision of the manager, is responsible for utilizing unsealed radionuclides and radiation detection equipment to perform quality diagnostic studies and administer therapeutic treatments. Also will adhere to strict radiation safety practices as described in the Department of Radiology Radiation Safety Manual, as mandated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the state of Ohio Department of Health Radioactive Materials Section, will also adhere to department protocols for patient education, safety, quality control, documentation and equipment care. Position will troubleshoot equipment, train others and perform exams requiring more extensive training and expertise. This position is required to meet the minimum continuing educational requirements of the registry and the state of Ohio. This position adheres to the Practice Standards as defined by the Society of Nuclear Medicine.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program in Allied Health American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification (NMTCB), and BLS/CPR State Licensure
EXPERIENCE: None in a related field
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Nuclear medicine computers.
