MANAGER MISSION AND PASTORAL CARE:
The manager is responsible for integrating Mission and Values into the culture and operations of the assigned hospital and region as well as day to day operations of Pastoral Care delivered by chaplains and volunteers. The manager will plan, supervise and coordinate the delivery of pastoral care services to patients, families and team members, and to coordinate the use of chaplain/communion volunteers. The manager will lead and manage Mission initiatives regarding community benefit, theology/ethics, pastoral care, sustainability and values integration. The manager will lead and manage the direction of the pastoral care chaplains with emphasis on strategic long term planning and department initiatives. The manager will work collaboratively with the Clinical Pastoral Education program in meeting the needs of students and the needs of our customers. The manager will plan, manage, coordinate and oversee the provision of pastoral care to patients, families and team members and will provide care and on-call to the hospital. The manager will also assist the Vice President of Mission and Culture in the teaching and public presentation of the Mission, Values and pastoral care initiatives at public forums and corporate events. The manager of Mission and Pastoral Care reports directly to the Vice President of Mission and Culture.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- EDUCATION:
- Master's degree in related field and 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education
- Also required: ordination or commissioned by a recognized faith group
- Certified or certified eligible by a nationally recognized Pastoral Care professional group recognized by the CHI Standards of Excellence (NACC, APC, ACPE, NAJC) within 3 years of job entry date.
- EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years of chaplain experience and leadership background
- SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
- Clinical Pastoral Education.
- Experience in institutional Pastoral Care, Crisis Intervention, Group Dynamics and Management.
