DIRECTOR INFECTION PREVENTION: This system wide leadership position is a critical leadership position to drive a significant component of patient safety: infection prevention. It is responsible for the supervision of the Infection Control Coordinators at all TriHealth locations, including inpatient and ambulatory which includes scheduling, assignments, quality control, productivity, budgeting, and performance evaluation. This position is also responsible for continued customer support development to provide those services deemed necessary by the Infection Control Committee, and also ensures the infection control manual, infection control scope of practice and infection control policies and procedures are established and updated regularly. Duties include, but are not limited to developing strategies for infection surveillance, prevention and control. When the individual does not have expertise, he or she consults with someone who has such expertise in order to make knowledgeable decisions (IC.01.01.01, EP 2) This position reports to the VP Institute Clinical Performance Improvement and works closely with the Medical Director of Infectious Disease. The Director for Infection Prevention shall serve as TriHealth’s Infection Prevention Officer and reports directly to the VP Institute Clinical Performance Improvement . The leader must build strong working relationships with all levels of management as well as with medical staff leaders to achieve cohesive support for patient safety and accreditation efforts. The individual must demonstrate a practical knowledge and experience in leveraging change at a system-wide level. They need to have familiarity with research methodology, data analysis, and the presentation of data and evidence based practices to clinicians. The Director of Infection Prevention is responsible to develop and execute a comprehensive Infection Prevention strategy and program for TriHealth that produces measurable improvements in processes, culture and practices. They must have the personality and skill to energize and motivate leadership, management and staff in producing a culture of patient safety. This individual serves as a consultant to leadership, the Medical Staff, and all management to promote Infection Prevention practices and tools using a systematic evidence-based approach.


EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in a related field Other Certification in Infection Control required within one year of hire

EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years Healthcare 5-7 years Other Infection Control Professional, Project management, and Team facilitation

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of process improvement methodology; Basic knowledge of computer spreadsheet applications and word processing; Knowledge of adult education methodology.
