Job Overview:
As a Unit Coordinator in the Bethesda North Labor & Delivery unit, you will provide timely, on‑site support to physician end users, with a focus on the CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry) modules within TriHealth Connect. In addition to core Unit Coordinator responsibilities, you will help personalize CPOE settings, review workflows with individual physicians, and assist with system upgrades and optimization. You will also serve as a communication liaison to ensure smooth information flow between clinicians and the care team. This role includes performing clerical duties such as accurately transcribing physician orders for locations not yet live on TriHealth Connect. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as you will communicate with respect and compassion while helping coordinate efficient patient flow.

Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrates ability to appropriately respond to and prioritize work. Removes medications from the tube system and places in appropriate locked cabinet. Responds appropriately to emergency situations (i.e. Code Blue, Rapid Response Team, fire, Special Alert). Demonstrates knowledge/use of emergency systems, policies and procedures. Performs computer down time procedures according to unit/TriHealth guidelines.
Demonstrates high level communication/interpersonal skills and success in resolution of problems, which is inclusive of critical thinking skills. Able to demonstrate patience, the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Demonstrates flexibility and a positive attitude. Communicates appropriately and effectively with internal and external customers (i.e. staff, patients, families, other departments, etc.). Relays accurate and complete information. Maintains confidentiality. Takes an active role in maintaining patient satisfaction (i.e. way-finding, quick response to call lights and phones, etc.).
Demonstrates/maintains knowledge of organizational and unit changes. Supports organizational and unit changes. Acknowledges need for self-growth and accountability. Identifies areas for self-improvement.
Maintains proficient knowledge of computer applications specific to unit/job (i.e. maintaining census, accurate scanning of documents, accurate transcription of physician orders in facilities not yet live on TriHealth Connect). Is knowledgeable of the function/operation of equipment specific to the role on the unit.
Serves as an internal resource specialist to physicians who utilize TriHealth Connect within Good Samaritan Hospital and Bethesda North Hospital. Shares knowledge, expertise, and support with CPOE, personalization of CPOE, and upgrades and optimization. Serves as a communication liaison between the physicians, project coordinators, and TriHealth Connect specialists.
Tracks and completes data gathering in relation to utilization of support. Identifies additional training needs of self and physicians, potential growth and expansion of position, and improvements that could be made in system/process.
